HOW IT WORKS.
This two-term turnaround and transformation programme helps your organisation or school respond rapidly to an urgent challenge such as inspection recommendations whilst also building a psychologically safe working environment that maximises your full potential.
We help you create and implement an operational solution that gives you total ownership of. Our responsive team are best in class and include members from our Centre of Excellence. Together we will support you with a tailored Action Plan to run over two terms that tackles all aspects of any recommendations whilst also building the solid foundations for longer term growth.
The programme will offer you a clear, actionable roadmap and effective framework that will lay the solid foundation for your school to become a successful organisation.
Specifically, it :
Creates and aligns vision, mission and values with strategic high-performance processes, expectations and behaviours
Engages all staff in taking ownership with a solution-oriented mindset of continuous, positive self-improvement
Develops effective distributed and collective leadership to cultivate a resilient, empowered and forward-thinking staff
Sets and maintains a consistently high standard that promotes the practice of sharing knowledge and resources thus utilising expertise within the school to create a self-improving system
From our experience, most response-interventions are ad-hoc, disjointed, knee-jerk, confusing and complicated and as a result difficult to manage and measure. They place unbearable pressures on staff and posses very little strategic overview. Instead they continue with the fire-fighting approach and pay little attention to building genuine, sustainable long-term improvement.
Most programmes also lack urgency, resolve, confidence and a clear structure. They provide a plaster-solution to important strategic needs, often by parachuting-in alternative personnel. As a result, critical ownership cannot take place on the staff and a recurrence of issues following the intervention is predictable.
We help you differently, supporting you and your staff to take full ownership of the issues and the solution with a high-quality operating framework to expedite your recovery and build the systems and culture necessary to accelerate toward excellence in the mid and longer-term future.
Below is an example of a Rapid Response Plan that helped a secondary school execute a stellar turnaround within a two-term period. All plans are bespoke and can be delivered virtually.

You visit Sycol’s Centre of Excellence to meet and discuss with our senior team

A half-day off site to analyse the school data collected on the first visit
A second full day on site meeting with key staff to ensure the action plan fits into the school systems and can be implemented. The plan would then be fine-tuned and pass through quality assurance
A full day off site to present and discuss the plan with the senior staff
A half-day on site to discuss the final plan, how it can be implemented and managed. At this point the school will have a detailed plan to present to inspectorate and Governors

From this point, regular support visits to discuss progress through the plan. In Term 2, 5-days of support is provided to embed new systems and changes
